The dishwasher is an appliance that defines the concept of a present-day home. Dishwashers provide us with ultimate hygiene, water and energy savings and save our time. Without them, we would be still washing dirty dishes with our own. No one would probably want to do that, right? Well, it could come to that at some point in time and the reasons could be many from inattentive care to low water temperature to defective detergent. The kind and amount of a dishwasher detergent that is used is an important part of getting the dishes clean. For hard water, a detergent with a higher phosphorous content – above 12 percent – needs to be used. Dishwasher detergent ages quickly and has a short shelf life. Old detergents should be thrown away.
